The man of the hour has arrived!! Just cruised in on a Harley. Hugh Jackman is over on the stage (that we can't see) talking in his adorable Australian accent. here are some snippets...


As the crowd started to chant, "Wolverine...Wolverine" all muscly 6'3" of him ran on stage. try to ignore the big hairy elbow that takes up the screen towards the end. idiot.


Ryan Reynolds making his first appearance. i think i might have peed my pants. Oh, dreamy...


Liev Schreiber signing autographs. He was the coolest with the crowd. He really took a lot of time to sign everything he could, eventually just sitting down on the stage.


And...saved the best for last. Ryan was thrown this tacky, 80's sports jacket, and he was commenting on the shoulder pads. Le pant...Le wheez...

PREPARE FOR GLORIOUSNESS!

The Wolverine premiere was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! the crowd was huge, and the energy was contagious, the people getting smothered or trampled were many, and the delicious aroma of salty, dirty sweat pervaded the air... By the time we got to the location, the place was filling up, and all the space in front of the main stage was full, so we went over to the side, behind the gargantuan line of reporters to where this catwalk was jutting out into the crowd. we didn't know what it was. just then, the DJ got up and said that to all the people stuck behind the media line, who couldn't see the stage (that was us), if we were next to the catwalk, we had actually chosen a really good spot. turns out, after the cast arrived and said a few words on the stage, they came over to the catwalk and spent the bulk of their time there, taking pictures and signing autographs and what-not. so...we were within spitting/grabbing distance of their beautiful forms.

Hugh Jackman is every bit as handsome in person as he is on tv. holy cow. he ran by pretty quick and then got pulled into the tar pits of the reporters, so i didn't get any real good close ups up him...but i suppose what i have will do. :) and ryan reynolds...beautiful! it was so much fun!

Guess who's got a date with Wolverine?

so....ladies...try to contain your jealousy. the new Wolverine: Origins movie comes out tonight, and the world premiere is in, of all places, Tempe Arizona! Precisely three miles away from where i'm sitting right now. so i'm going to be one of the screaming, slobbering, hysteric fans hanging over the ropes as Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber, and who knows who else, saunter down the red carpet. i've always wanted to go to a premiere and see all the stars! can't wait. can't wait. kathryn's right--i probably should've started camping out like yesterday. :) so...i shall try to obtain as many pictures and videos as i can. and then, when Hugh and i meet later, i'll have him sign some photos for you all or something.

Mama bought me these adorable lanterns for my patio, which is becoming quite the oasis--even if my fat cat does hog it. aren't they pretty? i have some plants to hang and stuff, but you get the general idea. thanks mama! you're so sweet!

man, i hope this movie turns out to be good. i love love love this story. the movie comes out this fall. they have obviously taken a crazy amount of liberties, and i'm curious to see how they turn a book with about 50 words total into a full-length film. And, from the previews, it could be either A) really cute or B) totally nightmarish. let's hope for A!!

Springtime in Tempe

Man alive, this is the prettiest stinking time of year in Arizona. The sun may literally melt your skin off in the summer, but the few precious months we get of "winter" and then spring are sensational! i took a walk around ASU campus on Saturday and took some pics for my poor sissies in snowy Chicago and Alaska. Enjoy!
