Come Fly With Me

Hey everybody! I just got back from a quick weekend trip to Dallas, where I underwent my new employee orientation with Southwest Airlines. And...here's the thing. I went in, thinking I wasn't going to let all their hype and excitement get to me (because it's not my ideal job, pay-wise), and that I didn't want anything to do with all the bonding they were obviously hoping would happen over the weekend between all us employees...but I'll tell you what---by noon, of the first day, I called Mom and said, "Dang it! They got me!" I can't impress enough how amazing, professional, fun, and rewarding I think my time with them will be. I'm pumped. So I'm still working at the theatre (which I love) but at less & more random hours. I'll be working a lot, but I'm actually looking forward to it. And...let us not forget: I now get amazing perks (hello free flights!! girls...prepare a room :) I met some really cool people, and all 45 of us will be going through the next month of training here in Phoenix together. The hotel was super nice (The Renaissance); my roommate was a blast; we laughed the whole time; and I sang karaoke at the big pizza party. Yes. And won. :) So anyway, here's a bunch of pictures. Much more to say, so gals, I'll call you later with all the itty-bitty details that don't need to go on here. XOXO

I just wanted to show you the walls of the massive headquarters building, just plastered in company spirit. :) Love it.

The flashcards that I mention: we have to memorize all the airport and city codes that SW flies to (about 65). Flashcards. Haven't used those since Jr. High!

Last thing. This has nothing to do with my weekend...well, it kind of does. This is from work on Halloween (at Phoenix Theatre). Joseph here is a loyal volunteer, and was ushering for our showing of "A Vampire Tale". :)

You know you owe that karaoke prize to me for all of the practicing we did in 9th grade! What did you sing? A Whole New World?

I am excited for you- what a fun new job!
